Job description:
Job Title: IT Infrastructure Technician
Salary: £20,000 to £25,000
Location: Wickford, Essex
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm
Main Responsibilities:
- Support IT line of business applications
- Provide general end-user desktop support
- Logging telephone calls into the helpdesk system
- Resolving tickets and escalating where appropriate
- Providing timely updates to business colleagues
- Be a source of knowledge for colleagues
- Create knowledge base articles to increase ticket resolution efficiency
- Lead IT projects to help the business achieve its strategic goals
- Work to protect the business from unexpected outages
- Ensure you are up to date with current technologies and be able to suggest opportunities to enhance the IT offering to the business
Person Specification:
- Experience of working in an IT Department
- Experience in supporting complex linked IT Systems
Required Skills & Experience:
- Ability to accurately capture information
- An understanding of basic networking principles
- Ability to troubleshoot IT PC issues
- Excellent MS Office skills
- Working knowledge of VoIP systems
- Flexible approach to problem-solving and an ability to “think on your feet”
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritise incidents
- Troubleshooting and investigative skills
- Ability to work effectively with third parties
- Ability to work well under pressure and to tight dynamic deadlines
- Experience scripting in Powershell
- MTA – Microsoft Azure fundamentals (AZ-900) or higher
Advantage knowledge, skills, and ability:
- Up-to-date knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure
- Knowledge and understanding of Apple iOS
- Knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V
- Knowledge of Watchguard firewalls
(ISC)² CCSP or SSCP
Cisco CCNA - Other relevant IT qualifications from recognized industry vendors
